Choosing a suitable gym and finding a reliable personal trainer is a headache. I first exercised at home, then went to the gym, invited private training, and later liked fitness too much, and went to the fitness coach. I have also been to gyms, fitness studios, rehabilitation studios, etc. in many cities. This article is from my experience.

1. Do you want to have a fitness card?

Many people have a fitness card and don't go once or twice. My advice is that you have to exercise at home for at least two weeks and then consider going to the gym to do the card.

Some people will say that I have no motivation to exercise at home. It is better to go to the gym. Believe me, if you can't hold it at home, you have to prepare things in the gym. You have to spend time on the way back, you can't stand it anymore.

Exercise at home, if you don't have the equipment, you can buy yoga mats and sneakers first. Others can be bought as needed: recommended fitness equipment with good quality and low price!

2. How to choose a gym

  • Position

Be sure to leave home and the company. The time spent on the way to the gym should not exceed 20 minutes. Otherwise, when the weather is bad, the enthusiasm for going to the gym will be greatly reduced.

  • Device

To check the number and maintenance of fixed instruments, the number of aerobic devices such as treadmills and elliptical machines, whether the weights of barbells and dumbbells are complete, free squat racks, gantry frames, etc.

The advantage of the fixed instrument is that it is relatively safe when exercising certain muscles. For example, the sitting chest and the bench press are all for exercising the chest muscles, but it is safer than the bench press and the weight adjustment granularity is smaller.

  • Congestion

If there are too many cards in the gym, during the peak period, the treadmills are not available, the strength training can't be opened, and the experience is very bad. Therefore, you should check the fitness during the peak hours of the working day and see the number of people.

Air and environment

Also, check out the air circulation. Whether the shower is clean, there is no sauna, swimming pool. Is there a friend in the same gym, and parking is convenient if you drive.

  • Experience

Now there are a lot of gyms in the US group to buy a group. You can buy a monthly card and a weekly card. You can experience the gym in detail. You can experience a few more. If you can't experience it, at least look at the surrounding ones.

3. Do you need a personal trainer?

The most important role of private education is to make plans, teach actions and force methods according to each individual's situation.

  • Moving goals and plans

Because different body types are different, the target of movement is different, so there is no one-size-fits-all exercise plan, which must be customized according to each person.

If you like, you can learn by reading books and experimenting to find the right goals and solutions.

If you don't have time to study, and you are willing to invest in your own health, it is also a good choice to find a reliable personal education, that is, to exchange money for time.

  • Action

In addition to developing a sports plan, private education can teach you the movements and force patterns, and make sure that you are doing the right thing by observing and correcting them.

For those who are less determined by willpower, private education can also supervise your exercise.

  • Physical measurement table

The general private church will give you a physical test, and then explain to the physical test table, to explain to you where your physical weakness is, how to improve. Later articles will also talk about how to understand the physical test table.

4. How to choose a personal trainer

It is recommended to go to a gym, don't rush to ask the coach, first practice for a few days.

If you have a private education, don't rush to buy a class, talk a few times, ask some technical questions, observe the situation of other classes for other members, buy a class or not, and then decide after class.

I suggest a few points of judgment:

  • Dedication

A good coach will make a serious plan, use the book to record the member's completion, and protect the member's actions at any time. This is the most basic professional ethics.

While letting members do their actions, they should not choose when they play mobile phones. They will not teach them seriously.

  • Body type and certificate

The body type must at least be trained to compare the standards, indicating that he is in love with fitness. Ask him what certificates he has. At present, there are more national vocational training (National Fitness Coaching Professional Qualification Certificate), NSCA (National Physical Fitness Association), and Asian Fitness AASFP Personal Coaching Certificate. Although some people say that these certificates contain insufficient gold, you must at least take the next one to show that you have learned the basics.

  • Experience class

In the general gym, you can find two or three coaches to experience the lesson. Through the experience class, you can consult the coach on the detailed action questions and judge whether the coach is cooperating with you. There may be some gaps in the coaching level, but a class style is more suitable for you.

Asking the details is a good way to judge the level of the coach. If the coach does not know what it is, it means that he has not studied it at all.

If you don't know if the coach's answer is correct, you can find a part, such as the chest, in the third part of the "Fitness Book", such as the chest, carefully look at it, remember a few knowledge points, such as lying What is the difference between a medium grip, a narrow grip, and a wide grip when pushing, what is the difference between a barbell bench press, a dumbbell bench press, and a dumbbell bird.

  • Warm-UP

If you have purchased a private lesson, I recommend a workout of more than 3 times a week. It is recommended that you reach the gym 15 minutes in advance, and after 10 months of warm-up after changing the clothes, otherwise there will be only one hour of the course, and the first ten minutes will be spent on the heat, and the effective class time will be shortened.

5. Other gym modes

  • Fitness studio

The studios are generally better private teachers in the big gym. They come out open, the area is relatively small, the fixed equipment is less, and the privacy is better.

Compared to fixed instruments in large gyms, studios generally use a variety of small devices to ensure exercise, such as TRX.

I know that there are several fitness big cows who have their own studios. The level of these big cows is much better than that of the general gym.

  • Chain Studio & CrossFit

There are also chain models, such as music engraving, there are many shops in Hangzhou, mainly based on the lesson, less equipment, but the advantage is that the price is cheap, 99 per month, go to that venue.

CrossFit is a fitness model. The venue is similar to the fitness studio. It is usually in the monthly or annual mode. You can also experience it if you are interested.

  • Internet mode

This is my favorite, you can pay monthly, you can go to different gyms, there are limits, starting with 99 months, but later because of the collective resistance of the gym, it seems that the bears are running away, the price is 199 months.

There are other apps that offer pay-per-view models, typically 30 to 50 each time.

These are the last ones because they are only available in big cities. If you happen to be in a big city, you can choose according to your own situation.
